• Screen should be placed so that direction of viewing is parallel to windows to reduce effects of contrast between screen and windows or their reflections.

• Direction of viewing should be parallel to fluorescent light fittings to reduce the effect of reflection on screens.

• Light levels should be set appropriately for screen reading but this will be a compromise if hard copies also have to be read.
