How barriers to effective written communication and ways to overcome
The barriers to written communication are:
- Language
- Feeling
- Individual
- Content
Ways to overcome the barriers:
- Use simplified sentences. Try to avoid using jargon and technical terms. Explain well.
- Do not find fault in the person’s written language. Hurting feelings does not improve written or spoken communication.
- Call the person by name. Review the contents of the document with the person. Ask the person to make the necessary corrections you have suggested politely.
- Simplify the contents of written documents with a flow chart. This will help to make it easier to understand the contents.
