- Stress test focuses upon testing those limits of the system’s performance that could impact upon its own or other systems’ performance within the production environment
- Stress testing is conducted within an environment that matches the production environment as closely as possible
- Stress testing focuses upon those aspects of a system that can be tuned to improve the efficiency and/or robustness of the system
- All problems identified during stress testing are notified to the project and tracked through to their resolution using the formal change control procedure
- Typical stress test will include:
- On-line response times
- Navigation between dialogues
- Recovery following system failures
- Batch run times
- Normal and peak volumes
- Normal and peak frequencies
