Define the term modulation. With reasons for modulation.
Define the term modulation.
Modulation is the process of making a signal suitable for sending over a transmission medium.
State THREE (3) reasons for modulation.
- Frequency translation to modulate a radio frequency carrier with an audio frequency signal.
- To improve the signal-to-noise ratio by increasing the bandwidth.
- To divide a bandwidth up into smaller communications channels (multiplexing).
